The Slaight Family Foundation created the Allan Slaight Awards in 2015 to recognize outstanding achievement in the pursuit of the impossible. The foundation pledged then to give away $50,000 to celebrate exceptional work in five distinct categories. And, in 2022, the foundation decided to award an additional $10,000 so there could be two Sharing Secrets award winners!
In total, the Slaight Family has given away an astounding $460,000 in celebration of exceptional achievements by extraordinary individuals—a true investment in magic. Here is a list of all the past recipients.
This year is special, it’s the tenth year of the Awards! Nominations are now being accepted for work completed in 2023.
Here’s your chance to recognize up-and-coming magicians who are based either in Canada or internationally, or perhaps you know of someone who should be acknowledged and celebrated for their life’s work in magic. Maybe you have seen a particularly special magic show? Or, you read a ground-breaking magic book from last year? Maybe you found an unusual or innovative learning environment, such as a podcast, masterclass or workshop? Tell us!
