We have recently released two rich archives—Lyons Den and Take Two—which are two blog columns written over four years, by Jamy Ian Swiss for Magicana. The Lyons Den is a compendium of thirty-six product reviews along with additional essays. Take Two is a collection of seventy-one articles that examine the specific form or individual style of magic and magicians using curatorial choices of magic videos to illustrate.
These archives are terrific resources and references for all magic enthusiasts, and we are so pleased to make them available for study.
Now, to add to these two excellent archives, Vanishing Inc. has just released another massive collection, Jamy Ian Swiss Book Reviews.
“For eighteen years (June 1994 - January 2013), Jamy Ian Swiss wrote thoughtful, opinionated, long-form reviews of magic books for Genii magazine. Jamy’s reviews contain insights deeper than just product recommendations, and so we have worked to make the entire series (almost 450 magic book reviews) in one place.”
It’s astonishing. Jamy has also released a new essay, Critical Thinking, if you want to learn more about how it all started. If you are curious to find a book review, or to learn more, we invite you to visit this wonderful archive over at Vanishing Inc. now!
