Lifetime Achievement Award 2022

June 25, 2022

To cap this special week of the Allan Slaight Awards celebration, we are delighted to recognize the dynamic duo GOLDFINGER & DOVE  as this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipients.

This award acknowledges the exceptional commitment to magic by the dedicated efforts of an individual over a lifetime, and comes with a prize of $15,000 and an engraved iPad to commemorate the occasion—courtesy of the Slaight Family Foundation. Past recipients include, Johnny Thompson, Ton Onosaka, Max Maven, Dr. Edwin Dawes, Juan Tamariz, Jim Steinmeyer and John Gaughan. Each of these individuals have, indeed, committed a lifetime of work to their art and craft, building and expanding the boundaries of magic.

This year, it is a joy to recognize the energizing team of Goldfinger & Dove—a pair of magicians who have built a five-decade long career in magic. They have devoted their life’s work to magic, and we are thrilled to recognize their hard work and commitment to their craft.

As you will see from the awards video, they have also inspired, and indeed, paved the way for today’s generation to evolve and thrive. Congratulations to Jack and Dove Goldfinger!

A Special Year: Six recipients and $60,000!

As we conclude this epic eighth year of the Allan Slaight Awards for Magic Excellence, we want to extend our deepest thanks to the Slaight Family Foundation for its ongoing dedication to this special program and for its ongoing support to magic and the arts.

We were thrilled to make this a special year expanding the awards to include six recipients, and to distribute an unbelievable $60,000. It is astonishing to realize that the Slaight Family Foundation has now given away $410,000 in recognition of exceptional work in the art of magic.

We extend a very special thank you to Allan Slaight’s son Gary Slaight, and to Allan’s wife, Emmanualle Gattuso, for their joint and individual inspiration in bringing forth new ways of celebrating the arts, and for nurturing emerging talent.

We congratulate each of our 2022 recipients and applaud you all for your outstanding achievements. It was a joy to share your stories and triumphs.

Our final thanks, as always, goes to you, our supporters. Thank you for joining us; thank you for cheering on our recipients; thank you for bolstering this big and beautiful community. It is never lost on us: without you, there is no magic!
