On June 27, 2015, we will announce and recognize the inaugural winners of the Allan Slaight Awards (ASA), recognizing outstanding achievement in the pursuit of the impossible. The total prize money to be given away is $50,000, distributed over five categories: Rising Canadian Star, Rising International Star, Sharing Secrets, Sharing Wonder and Lifetime Achievement. These awards are generously sponsored by the Slaight Family Foundation.
The awards (#ASA) will be presented during the 12th annual, 31 Faces North (#31FN) conference —cohosted by Mr. Allan Slaight and Mr. David Ben. The three-day conference gathers 31 of the top magicians from around the world. It is purposely intimate, limiting the number of delegates to 31, and is designed to foster and build relationships, to promote the sharing of magic and to celebrate magic as a performing art.
